Above we are beginning to paint what will be my room, and below one can see the room almost ready to live in.

The large front room below will eventually get dry walls put up behind the room divider to make two simple guest rooms. In the corner one can see an antique guillotine that I will use for bookbinding.

What was the school office will have some curtains put up over the windows and door and also be transformed into a simple guest room:

and on the other side of the room divider there is a workspace for bookbinding.

After the Great Blessing of the waters on the Feast of Theophany (6 January), Father Zacharias and some of the parishioners came for the blessing of the house. And as we were beginning, I realised with regret that I had left my camera at the Bedehuis.  While I regret that I can’t share photos, it was a good chance for others to see some of the (slow) progress that had been made.

I have decided to tackle one room at a time and have cleared out the room that will be my own room. This weekend I hope to paint it (the walls are currently blue and purple) so that I can at least move in there for Christmas. After that, I will tackle the kitchen and the space that I plan to use for bookbinding.

By the way, the large metal object in the first photo is an antique guillotine that I recently bought for bookbinding (it was a real bargain) and which my very kind landlord offered to transport for me.
